I've written elsewhere about 220+HP G200Ws by merely adding twin 45DCOEs (F-2? emulsions), L1 cams and a slight port polish. New pistons are required for above 180HP. If you have a 2:1 extractor length of about 24-26" (from the standard exhaust manifold) into a 2" system, the torque should...

I was certain there was info on this but all I found was http://workshopmanual.org/twincam/viewt ... ibutor+cap.

I'm sure RodeoBob had a post on what substitutes were available. Maybe on ozgemini?
And I can't find their part number....

I didn't know of the Sydney Florian, but I tend not to be after Isuzu bits these days. Unless it's something special to get it to a new home, or at least stop it hitting the tip. About the only interest I have is for a spare (larger) RH taillight for the second/later Florian released in Oz. I did se...

If you don't know, then there is no need to know. Florians are only available on a "need to know" basis. If we didn't stick to those rules, then everyone would have one. Sorry. I know it's tough. But I'm sure Denny and other Florian owners will concur. In the meantime, here are some pics. ...

The ol' Grey Nurse has been sitting for a few years. I got another (red) Florian (from ACT). I fitted the Grey's G200W to it but it was too worn by then - it had been sitting for a few years. It ran like a Crappadore V6 - she wouldn't beat V8s anymore. And 17mpg compared to 27mpg. The 4WD Florian wa...

An advantage with 8V over 16V is torque (all else being the same).
That's definitely evident in the G200W (ie, 360Nm @2,000RPM with standard engine fitted with twin DCOE45s and a 26-inch 2:1 from the standard exhaust manifold.

Welcome back Denny! About time you got into those 4ZE1s! Not sure if I'll DOHC the old GreyNurse (Florian) or E1 it. She'll probably have UBS17 Jackeroo disc rear end and TFR gearbox to handle the torque and braking. Might make it a UBS17 gearbox instead so I don't have to fit snow chains. PS - That...

Agreed - into solid block or head. But not the sump. As to high or low - the knocking occurs at head level - ie, combustion. The near/far doesn't matter as metal conducts sound far better than air etc. I've seen early version knockers (Chrysler?) mounted mid-block (on the side, half way up), or up t...

They should be mounted up near the head. They are usually attached to the inlet manifold.

It may not sense properly if sump mounted - unless you have a knock sensor designed for that.

But maybe other twincammers have done it? I wonder what sensor was used?

Why do you need a different length - or is it just a concern? The box should be the same length as Gemini 5 speed boxes, and I think the 4 speeds too. Otherwise if you can measure the length needed (say from diff flange to end of box shaft), I can see if something might fit. Also supply the length o...

Sorry - forgot: I bought a few sets of those Bursons full & VRS gasket kits (as posted elsewhere). They were through AA Gaskets (Melbourne) who I think get them from NZ Gaskets from the East Islands (aka NZ). One criticism others have of them is the thin walls between the cylinders - they tend t...

I've covered some of the original questions elsewhere - maybe look through my posts? EG - the splines might be course or fine, but there are various solutions (though I have no Gemini experience with this). However yours looks like a Piazza or similar (fine spline; maybe large) - my G200 DOHCs were ...

There are usually standard parts to handle the various engine swaps. There is even a standard Isuzu part so that the Piazza turbo oil-filter assembly can be changed to suit Bellett 7 Florian (though I've lost the info). And it's nice with the Z9 type filters - just pick the size you need (Z79A, Z148...

The carbs take it to 150HP. I can't recall what typical transmission losses are (I know for motorcyles with drives shafts it used to be about 15%, and chains much less unless they are really worn.) But the tests from Tates Automotive are as posted above. The report doesn't say if it's at the wheels,...

And I have both types of sumps.

I'm selling twin 45DCOE Webers with Bellett-GTR replica manifolds. The DCOEs are tuned specifically for a G200W. On a standard G200W with standard exhaust manifold, the about 26-inch 2-into-1 into a 2 inch exhaust, it increases from standard 135HP to 150HP. But best is the torque. Mine was dyno test...

A possible correction to the above... I may be confusing my engines...? I'm wondering if the olive-green cover was 1800cc, but I'll have to check... The olive-greens came out in the 117 coupes and were fast. But I think the fastest was the 1600cc DOHC with black covers (10.5:1 compression ratio; use...

Check the "G stamp" on the lower left front of the block - it should be G200. Blue rocker covers were off the G180Ws, but my G200 has a blue one (they are all interchangeable) because, er, um, it looked better than a red one. I certainly wouldn't use a blue cover to fool the authorities in...

Not sure if that's a bit low, but being even (matched) is GOOD. I think my twin-DCOE45 G200W was originally about 150-150psi. I retired it after sitting unused to about 2 years. From memory, the compression varied from under 100 to 120 psi. She still ran, but she felt like a slow car - she used to b...

I thought all G200Ws had red cam covers (117s, Piazza etc). If the G200W is from a 117, it could be points ignition. Not sure about conversion difficulties. See viewtopic 237 - member Coley said he machined down an SOHC dizzy to suit (but was that points?). And I've replied to other posts and mentio...

If the engine hasn't been running much, it could be a worry - it might be failing quickly. But it's an Isuzu G200 which could still run for years... If it blows at start-up, or when taking off after idle (traffic lights etc), then it's probably the valve stem seals. These shouldn't be too hard to re...

Excellent! And well done. Others might be interested in how difficult it was to machine the SOHC dizzy. Though I assume a lathe was used so it's not a normal "backyard" fix. Update 27Nov12: No fancy tools are required, just cut off the shaft ~10mm below the collar, remove the collar and an...

Fixing the dizzy's mech advance, or an electronic kit.
