Ha, I know that feeling. I waited two months for a clutch too. Snap. The thing is, it's one thing after another for me (and everyone else too I'm sure). I wait a month for a gearbox, wait another month for an engine crane, wait two months for a clutch and currently about a month for a freaking sandw...

Re: I'll go first...
had a bit of a health scare in the middle of it How bad? If you don't mind me asking. Me? Well, I'm just dropping out of uni, I've only been there one semester and didn't take a gap year, I don't like my course and I'm failing it (just a minor detail). I might do a writing course or something fun f...

Hey man thanks for the info. Since then, though, I've gone and bought a MegaSquirt II kit and am working on setting all that up. I'm sure any info will be of use to people in the future though. I have no ride to the JGSA cruise but I'll see if I can con a friend into taking me, I'm keen to see a G20...

Ah yeah. Running lean for the test is a good idea, but I'm not sure retarding the timing helps. Wouldn't retarding the timing shorten the burn time and increase hydrocarbon (petrol) emissions? Not sure about the carbon monoxyde though. Obviously don't run too much timing advance with a lean mix ;) b...

You mean SOHC? Nah, they don't. Cylinders 2 and 3 exhaust outputs are right next to each other on SOHC, and the ports are square. The mounts on the end of the header are the same, BUT the SOHC header extends back a further 5-10cm or so, and is at a different angle, so you'd need to add some length i...

Thanks man! About time too hey... I got my Application To Modify Vehicle form back today. They stipulate that all I need to do is get an emissions test ($45 geez forking out there) and a full vehicle inspection ($80), as well as doing the work up so standards, and not have modified the engine for pe...

Re: Tims BAD 44U
Induction is a custom inlet manifold made out of 2 90 degree bends approx 15cm long each making a z. with two rebuilt 40mm dellortos and a direct port nitrous system(pre fast n furious movie)50 hp jets. LOL @ F&F reference How hard was it to make the inlet? Got any pics? I've been thinking of m...

Update. The 161 has found a home in Benny's backyard, and my twincam lower end is in. The gearbox didn't go in with the engine as I had a delay with the clutch, but yesterday I put a new spigot bearing in, flywheel on, and clutch lined up but loosely on the flywheel. The car's jacked sky high (well,...

Sounds good, go for it! I like the HoldenGemini.net forum template.
As for the header image, you could even make it select randomly from a set of images. There's something like this on www.justgemsofsa.net but I can't find the code

Funding really. I only had my car on the road (and license, driving legally lol) for about 8 months before it packed up. I've now had it off the road for 10 months or so, which is ridiculous, and I don't know how long it's gonna be before I can afford forgies, a decent turbo, intercooler etc etc (le...

Yup. I'm going for around 8:1 to 8.2:1, not totally sure yet but yeah, for turbo. I'm sending off a piston to America and having them made by a reputable company, through my engine builder I should be able to get all of this done around the $1000 mark, not bad at all for international custom made. A...

I might know a bloke interested in the engine, could you also check what freight to Adelaide would be worth? If you have a spare G180W piston floating around (doesn't matter if it's cracked buggered etc etc as long as the shape's right) and are willing to sell it on it's own I might be interested, I...

Hey Jazzza - nice buy! Sounds like a pretty schweet deal. How complete is the exhaust system? Mine came with a header and midpipe (the big 2-1 bit that would stop about where the passenger sits) but I don't think I have any way of fitting this to my stock TX exhaust (although thatd be temporary as i...

Wooooo! The time draws near... I'm getting really excited now. Got the lower end back from Chris Milton Engine Developments, the important bits assembled, bores honed, block oringed, copper head gasket made, paid $1200 all up. I've been putting the bits and pieces back on, like oil pickup, filter, w...
