Ideally if it had been carefully packed in a wooden crate after having the exposed faces coated in thick grease or that storage laquer it should be ok. Having it also wrapped in rust inhibiting paper packing also helps. It's amazing how easily rust begins to form on exposed metal just left in a shed...

Honestly, I wouldn't think in that state it's not going to really be a high price engine. It's probably going to be purchased more for spare parts than as a rebuilder especially if it's been disassembled for long and atmospheric moisture has begun to form oxidisation on machined surfaces. A cople of...

Yeah, I use Image Shack so much I donated money to them. Real worthwhile site. I currently have 755 images stored there (about half what I did have) so everyone can access them without using the bandwidth or storage space of my server. Pretty cool idea I think. I'd suggest if you haven't signed up f...

The G180Z rings should be suitable from what I've been told, but that of course depends on the manufacturer of the piston in your engine. Most G series engines use 2.0mm compression rings and 4.0mm oil rings. There are some original G series pistons that use 1.5mm compression and 4.0mm oil ring so i...

Forum Update - 01-01-06 ERROR!!!! <-READ!
Happy new year people... I did a software update last night and so far I've found no glitches. If anyone does happen to find anything out of place please let me know. You won't see many of the additions provided in the update as they are more for security purposes. While I was fiddling I also added ...

Isn't it included with the head gasket? The actual tension setting should be similar to that used in the SOHC engines. It's relative to the bolt diameter and thread pitch. The actual tension pattern is also probably safe enough following the same pattern as you would use on a SOHC head. Providing yo...

Yeah just stick with moly rings or if you plan on running it hard, I'd be inclined to run plain iron rings and be prepared to replace them more often, extending the life of the bore doing so. If the rings get replaced before they wear enough to cause the piston to slap the bore or the ring grooves t...

From scratch a full blooded ready to install KalMaker Pro is priced at $1100. Once you have one, or access to one, you can real time tune and then the data you aquire can be used or duplicated in any number of modified 808 ECU's. They need to be modified to utilise the real time software and that co...

or ya could just go aftermarket sorry i'm not much help my twincam has never run a delco since i have had it. Delco in many ways is just like using an aftermarket except it is being taken from an OEM situation and then adapted by reprogramming to the new use in the same way you would with an afterm...

All imported. Been developed from the same base as the G series SOHC engines were. Both types were based on the old OHV G series engines used in cars back in the 1960's. There is a range of different G series engines many never being used in Australia. G130, G150, G160, G161, G180, G200. These were ...

None of the 'G' series ever ran Delco EMS unless someone hooked them up that way. The Delco 808 can be adapted to anything of the 'G' series era, no problem at all. I'm slowly getting the pages in order to publish. some of you will be surprised just how versatile and powerful the 808 really is. Don'...

I don't think 'whinging' it the correct term to use. In situations where the engine is made to work hard most of the time, life expectancy of most components is shortened. I'm sure cam bearings with inherent oil supply problems will be a cause for concern to someone wishing to make a twenty year old...

I have been interested in the Delco for years. Until recently I had not been as intent on using the system as I am now. I know there are plenty of alternatives around and I did look at the megasquirt but I still prefer the Delco. Those prices I quoted are for proprietry KalMaker components. Cut them...
