I can tell you now that Holden gem onlines admin will be deleting all pains in the asses on the spot, I think that is a power the mods get there too.

But as far as adding sections to the forum to suit a certain group, HGO is certainly more proactive in that area. That can keep alot of pains in the asses in there 'play pen'. Laughing

Just to be clear on this, joe and I used to moderate the old forum on our own. Joe was too busy so most of the time it fell to me alone, in the end I got sick of it and often the site was completely unmoderated, the place went to the dogs like you wouldn't believe. What I'm alluding to is that actually no, the troublemakers cause the trouble, the moderators just have to sit there and cop it in the face all day long. You are speaking bullshit.

Fusiongem and Gemini=tunney: Whilst I appreciate the efforts many members are putting in towards reforming their behaviour, I feel that it is still underestimated just how much of a change we (the moderation team) and I are looking for. Essentially I don't see much of a need for anyone to make it personal at all, if you disagree with someone (whether its about the maximum overbore of a G161) or over the spec of a V8supercar engine, discuss the post, don't attack the poster.

Please don't take it personally when I say that you two still aren't meeting my expectations, thats just the honest truth.

ok, im only a new member (4-5 months) but iv been reading the site for over 2 years and was also a member when it was the old version. so this is my opinion on the matter

* hot gemini was left un "moderated" for way to long and this is what it turned into, and now you decide to change it.. simple.. old habbits take die hard.. u cant just jump in acting like special forces team and whipe out everythign and expect it all to happen striaght away

* HGO is more "in order" because they listen to there members, and change the site to accomodate ideas and make it grow and become better. where as iv noticed here, you make a suggestion, its like talking to a tree. nothing happens.

*HGO's moderators dont act like power hungry tools. they get in and help and dont let the "power" go to there head.. seriously.. i think 1/2 the mods here are more childish then 1/2 the members

* Poida has compleatly changed from what he use to be.. hes acting as if he is fighting for world peace or something.. maybe instead of sitting on the computer all day get out and have a reality check??? no offence at all but your trying to lay the new laws down to hard and to fast, and taking it WAY over board...

*look at Fredrick and ben weight... there the only 2 mods that have 1/2 a clue.. there not on here being power hungry loony's, runing around posting demands here and there. they do what a mod is ment to do and they dont act like there everything and more for hot gemini. also i must admit onlya4 and hones are being more sensable about it now then what they use to be..

*notic how nearly everymember is saying the same thing along the lines of

the new "rules are being taken way out of hand and mods are over reacting,, etc.....

if most of the members are saying this, it must mean something.
like i said u cant expect it all to change straight up as this is how the site have grown to be come over the years.. its gonna take time to bring it back in to line (if thats what u call it)

Like the above post, i am only new on the scale of things (1 year) but i have noticed a bit of a turn of late.
Whilst i agree there are some extremely immature and un-necessary posts put up here there is also some extreme over-moderation.

No-one is at fault out of the Moderators and i dont believe they are trying to be an ar$e's for no reason. From what i can see its an attempt to crack down on the crap and prove the point that it will not be tolerated. Certain users are thinking this is some sort of personal vendetta against them and are rioting as a result. What has happened is a out and out divide between Moderators and Users because everyone is sticking to their guns and not backing down, therefore tensions are escalating out of control.

I think a all over truce needs to be set up, an agreement set and for everyone involved to forget what happened last week, last year or whenever and to begin again.
It will have to involve a compromise from both sides, maybe users should modify their behavior and stop posting (obviously) offensive material and Moderators to allow a little tounge in cheek posting (where it is seen as not hurting anyone and no one is upset)
It sounds really simple i know and probably easier said than done, but what else can be done?

The key is for everyone to stop dragging up past issues and move on afresh and work from there with everyone co-operating as a group.
