Engine for sale on eBay - what is it out of?

G'day

Found a "isuzu(Gemini) twin cam engine" for sale on eBay.

It has an interesting exhaust manifold and what appears to be standard twin solex carbs.

Anyone know what car this came out of?

2 litre LOL!
It's the original Bellett GTR G161W. The 161 is clearly visible on one pic. The integral intake manifold means its GTR & not from a 117.

Amazingly original for a 45 year old engine - black cam cover; Mikuni Solex (note their high mounting angle & better head clearance compared to Webers...).

Can't believe I missed the 161. I was looking on the other side for the 200.

There were other giveaways if you're familiar with the series - like the smaller (head) vent, plus the head manifold angles.
And the GTR was the only GW with integral intake manifolds.

Black (cover) was also the G161W colour - except for the G180W hot up kits that were release for the Geminis, but only about 200 of those were sold & fitted. Not that the cam covers are necessarily original colours...

I suspect classic racers overseas would love that engine, I know of one that spent over $1500 having one exported from Australia a few years back.
But for any non-genuine non-period people, nah...

BTW - as I recall it sold to the first & only bid at $500.
IMO that's not bad compared to the $1500 (from memory) an overseas buyer bought an IMO lesser G161W (tho it may have been a 117 G161W) with some bits or peripherals missing (a few years ago).
