Gemini g180w startermotor HELP!!!!

Hey everyone im running a worked G180w in a gemini coupe building it turbo but cant fit any exaust past the starter motor on the passenger side of the car the standard gemini ones fit but are in the way, i need one that fits but has the solonoid at the top of the mounting point not in the middle any help would be greatley aprishiated

sounds like u got a sohc starter

i will look and see if i got a spare dohc starter 2day

these motors were never sold new in OZ so parts are harder to get

best thing to do is just find a s/hand one, use it then reco it when needed, as most of the parts are the same as sohc

oh okay then well if ya know of anyone with a spare starter let me know as i cant do anything else atm... really need one

Short Bellett starter will fit. Have you thought of a Rodeo Diesel one. That is what I have used.

tryed a rodeo diesel starter didnt fit in to hte gearbox the backing plate for the twincam 5speed hits and stops by like a mil or two and cant find a Short Bellett one anywhere any other ones that might work and anyone have something that work let me know cheers

Just concluding this thread, I now own this engine, complete with twincam starter.

I'm curious about which exhaust chester288 was using though, the stock header hits the engine mount (but not the starter) for me.. Mate if you have any other twincam exhaust lying around let me know!!

Twincam needs: surge tank, EFI lines, TPS, recored radiator, hoses, assemble the ECU (50% done).
