g200W VRS (Vale Regrind Set?) incl. head gasket

You can get VRS kits from Burson automotive, who have stores all over australia. The kit costs about $170 (or $100 if you get lucky and they undercharge you )

It includes a good quality graphite/carbon fiber head gasket
intake manifold gasket
exhaust gasket
cork rocker cover gasket

and it even came with vale stem seals, when these engines didn't come from factory with valve stem seals... the seals weren't easy to fit on my engine so I didn't bother putting them on as my valve spring compressor doesn't fit on the dohc head

It doesn't come with gaskets for the water inlet manifold, but I'm not sure if that has a gasket for it... my engine never had one, I just used silicone instant gasket.

Robbo,
What is the part number ?

I knew I was forgetting something

V2032KC

Thats for the G200W, they dont make them for the G180W or the G161W, the gaskets are all exactly the same between the engines (at least with the G180W and G200W) just the bores on the head gasket are a couple of mm bigger for the 200 as opposed to the 180 of course

Would there be any issue using the G200W kit on a G180W? do those few mm on the head gasket make a difference? I suppose the alternative approach would be to get a compass and some sandpaper... Hmm... lol

using a 2l head gasket on a 1.8l will cause the compression to drop slightly (I worked it out months ago, can't remember now, think it was around .25:1 so say you had 12:1 compression before, would drop to 11.75:1 compression)

However, having a small gap there will quickly fill up with carbon deposits I would assume, so compression would come back up.

I've also found AA Gaskets stock G200W gaskets.
No listing for the G180W gaskets though

G200W
Valve Regrind Set - V2032KC
Head Gasket - S2032KC
Rocker Cover - RC3000
Manifold Inlet - MG3000
Manifold Exhaust - MG3001

Good old AA eh? Founded thanks to the BCCV (or largely so). Dumped $3,000 worth of Bellett gaskets some years back... (I was about to buy for under $1500, but then Management gave the founder the boot. )

But what is it with Isuzu gaskets?
Permaseal list the V2032 series as being for the G200Z 1984 on.
AA list it correctly as the G200W, but for the Gemini (imported) 1984 on. And they reckon it was a Carb engine (all G200Ws were EFI).

Have recieved a lead on a full gasket set for G200W from another forum

MDS spares Melbourne - (03) 95530388

Apparently the numbers are limited

Invaluable info - thanks!

I was thinking of hitting the beach tomorrow. If so, I might drop in. (For a look only, being FUCKed (Financially Unable To Conceive Kids) also extends to my G-W children.)

They mention KP Gaskets, but also MDS as well as OEM parts.

Of course I'll see what else they have - maybe GT-R Bellett or Gemini LSDs, 180HP Piazza kits, I-TEC DOHC kits, etc. (Or maybe not.)

LOL!

That lead wasn't from G200W Full Gasket Set per chance?

kinda weird as I was following this from a guy on the ozgemini forum for months and though it had gone cold. I placed the order about the same time as your post then placed the note up when I was sure it was legit, should have checked the other section. sorry bout that.

Nothing to be sorry about - I'd rather repeat or even wrong info that could become something...

I didn't even recognise the company until I found that other thread. Then reading my own comment that the cam-valley or timing chain cover to head rubber gasket was included stirred up greater interest. (Those gaskets were not included in the Permaseal VRS kits which were relatively easy to get, though I think the Permaseals had the thin head gasket between cyls 1&2 and 3&4 - from memory I calculated ~45% less strength than the original head gasket.)

I'm not sure what made me laugh the loudest - forgetting the other thread, or yet another "project in progress (not!)".

But Poida has been in contact with MDS to see what other goodies they have and suggested that many here may be interested. (My tip - get them while you can. When someone posted that Bursons had those VRS kits, I ordered 2 VRS & 2 headgasket sets; $500 worth but discounted to $400 (thanks Bursons!) and much better than the ~$110 I paid for a headgasket alone MANY years ago just in case I needed one. Anyhow, it seems later people had troubles etc. I saw the same thing happen with Bellett sparts - they are now paying more than triple prices IF they can get the parts we once bulk ordered so cheaply in the late '90s.)

So OzFem still exists? I thought they got busted for posting illegally imported porn... (LOL! No need to reply on that one! I've been kept a-breast.)

PS - are you heading to the Kiama meeting this weekend/Easter? There should be some interesting Gems including DOHCs.
