Detailed piston info needed! Attn: gurus!

Post by archangel62 »

Okay, so if I want forged pistons for my G180W (primary blue rocker cove, ala ZZ/R I believe), I need to fill out this form. They say it's okay to just give as much info as possible, but I'd much rather give them all information possible. Custom forged pistons for a turbo motor are not something you want to mess up. Some of it's real advanced (to me), some info might simply not be available or known. The more people can give me the better, if it's an "I'm not sure" that's welcome too! Any rough ideas, but if you're not certain just put a "?" on the end!

Here's the form:

Or quote this in your reply, blanks are ok:

Engine Make: Isuzu
Model: G180W
Year:
Number of cylinders: 4
Order quantity of pistons: 4
Cubic inch displacement:
Max RPM: What does everyone think of 7500? For a turbo G180W?
Approx. HP: 500@flywheel? (I'd like 200-240rwkw with plenty of response, 16-18psi?)
Bore size: 84mm unless I bore it out, right?
Stroke: 82mm, like G180Z/G200Z, right?
Rod length:
Rod material (Steel, Aluminium, Titanium): Forged steel, right?
Brand: Isuzu?
Rod Small-End width:
Thickness above pin:
Piston guided rod:
-Compression Height-
Block height:
-1/2 of stroke: (41mm?)
Rod length:
Deck clearance: 0mm to edge of piston?
Compression height:
Head gasket thickness: 1mm
Compression ratio: (Is this desired or factory?) Factory 8.9:1, desired 8.7:1? Would that take 16-18psi of boost and prevent lag?
Camshaft specs: Solid?
Gross valve lift - Inlet: Exhaust:
Lobe separation: [degrees]... Duration @.050 In: Ex:
Degreed in Std: + [degrees] - [degrees]
Valve Lift @ TDC - In: Ex:
Cylinder head Type: Alloy DOHC? Pt#:
Combustion chamber size: cc's
Valve Diameter In: Ex:
Free Drop (If Known):
Was the Cylinder Head Milled: Yes, minimally (Flat)
Piston Type: (would it be dome or conical? or 3D?)
Pistons designed for: Road Race/Track Drift
Is your motor: Injected
...Turbocharged - 16-18psi
Fuel type: Pump gas (98RON)
Purchase Rings with Order: Yes, 4cyl
Optional Features - do I want: [Gas Ports; Vertical, Gas Ports; Lateral, Accumulator Grooves, Contact Reduction, Oil Rail Supports, Spin Boss, Window Mill, Skirt Coating, DBL Pin Oilers, Pin Fit]
-Pin Specs-
Pin Diameter:
Length:
Wall Thickness:
Qty:
Pins with order:
Pin fit:
Pin offset:
Amount:
Pin series:
Locks: [Double Spiro Lock, Single Spiro Lock, Wire Lock, Single Tru Arc, Tru Arc, Buttons, HookWire]

There's no hurry with this either. Turbo will be GT2871RS at this point, aimed at response, cams are stock AFAIK at the moment, not sure if I'll put lumpier ones in later. Target power is 200-240rwkw but I'd rather lower power and great response. Piping will be minimal, cooler sensible-sized. 98RON, Megasquirt EFI, might make a custom plenum later.. Engine has had a mild port job too. I'd love for it to be able to rev, maybe 7500rpm, but again I'd rather respose and good power throughout, than a peaky setup. Any help MUCH appreciated!!!

Cheers,
Eli

Combustion chamber size: cc's

On my engine (now DMH-Performances) The head combustion chamber size was 60.5cc's However that may not be standard as it has had some work done to it.
However that is only head chamber size and doesnt include the area the piston takes up ect.

Goodluck

Anyone?

Don't have to read/answer the whole thing. Just pick a few you know, it'll be a huge help!

I imagine if you could send them an old piston they should be able to work with that.
A plaster cast of the piston crown and combustion chamber should also be helpful. Now if you can't provide hose, maybe one of the other members with loose parts or an engine in pieces could come to the rescue...

Can anyone help here??
