x2, quads are for NA. If you're going turbo save weight, not to mention money and complexity, and go single TB.

There is also insurance, incorporation etc. One car gathering recently put all attendees in danger of law suits when a participant attempted to run another off the road. ... (Maybe this practice will end after the crash of 2010 - it hasn't seemed to as yet. Oh dear - what happened to all that "...

Well, you've made your actions more than justified - legal liability is a b****. The days of social reliance on common sense are dead. Example, I started at a Woolworths supermarket as a Nightfiller awhile ago. I Nightfilled at a Foodland for two years, I've worked at a Coles division store, even Ma...

10.5:1? I thought twincams were all 8.9:1? And as for the locker, my two cents say that our responsibilities as posters, and your responsibility as webmaster/moderator is simply to point out that lockers on the street are illegal in nearly all circumstances. If people want to do it with that knowled...

Wow! lol, I'm screwed now :P Maybe Poida will know.

Next time I'm out there I might pull off the bottom cog cover and see if that helps at all. Or perhaps jamming foreign objects down the timing case, like screwdrivers... No, actually, that doesn't sound like a good idea

How to fit cams/disengage timing chain tensioner

Hey all, I know this is a really stupid question, but having snapped a cam clean in half last time I tried, I'd rather ask it than wing it. Right now, my twincam is in the shed with the sump, timing case, and head on, at TDC. The inlet cam has been fitted, and the exhaust cam itself is fitted howeve...

How strong are the ZZ/R LSDs?

And could you get them rebuilt to be tight and grippy again locally? Or would that require unique parts?

Call your local Vehicle Standards hotline. The number here in SA is 1800 882 248, I'm not sure if it's a national number or not. Talk to them about it, be polite and patient and listen to what they have to say even if they go off on a tangent. I was nice and patient with a bloke here who initially s...

That price is pretty good for the dyno tuning especially given the new part required. Any chance you could scan the dyno readout (libraries have scanners usually if you don't have one)? I want to see what the spool time was like. Must have sounded awesome, wish you had a video... Yeah you definitely...

Sometimes people on the site can be douches, but www.ozgemini.com does have a pretty decent store of knowledge on the Z engines, as they're most commonly used in Geminis. I personally recommend a G161Z head on a G200Z, it raises the compression to 10.5:1. You will need to run 98RON fuel then however...

I've gotta say, if it really is a Gemini twincam turbo, and it's not engineered or running right, you pretty much have three options: 1. Start learning. A LOT! 2. Sell the car or parts, and run a simpler setup. 3. Spend lots on getting someone else to do it. I don't know that individual turbo but GT...

If you just want to know how many gears there are, try to slide the shifter pins (where you put the shifter in) up and down, one at a time. If you can find five, it's a four speed, if you can find six, it's a five speed. To obtain the ratios, put it in each gear and count the number of turns of the ...

Okay a very kind member of ns.com sent me a stock CA18DET exhaust header (at his expense!) I've had a good look, the ports on the G180W are slightly further apart, but the consistency of the spacing is pretty similar and the shape/size isn't too far off. Unfortunately the retarded coolant outlets be...

Turbo manifold?

Alright so my plan's always been to go turbo on my G180W, running a Garrett GT2860RS "disco potato" in my TX sedan. Whilst the $1000-$2000 needed to buy the turbo is still a while off, the time has come to start contemplating how on earth I'm going to mount it. I was going to get a custom ...

When you're trying to run the timing chain over the cam cogs, if there's too much tension, rotate the engine forwards until there isn't (probably want to turn the crank over twice so it lines up again)... I was putting the head on and the engine rotated backwards a bit without us realising. It put a...

Are you using a factory ECU?

Also, the temp gauge sender will probably resemble G series SOHC senders, pic's pretty blurry but I'm gonna guess the one on the left being for the gauge.

I could be completely wrong (in which case I'll look like a dickhead) but I don't think there's any valve clearance specification in these engines, because nothing can be adjusted easily. I guess you'd just want to know the shims are only just being contacted (or not at all) by the cam lobes when cl...
