All the gearboxes are the same length be they course or fine (mid 81 on) spline. The tail shafts vary in length according to where the box ends up sitting (fore and aft related in the tunnel). In the Aust cars, the petrol and diesel boxes each use different length tail shafts because the engine is m...

It may also be different but I'm thinking the 'C' series diesel engines from the Rodeo and the Jackaroo might have a suitable sandwich plate. Worth looking into that before having to get a plate fabricated.

Yeah I thought it was justified...

A twin cam's throaty roar will cause a hard on even when you don't want one! We need something to soften us up, not make it hard!

What was it defected for? Surely it would be worthwhile getting the defect notice cleared instead of scrapping a good car.

I guess I'm just acclimatised to the garage idea. Seeing that I live in a factory... what's 'heating'??? My heating consists of keeping the doors to the office/residence section closed so I don't lose the heat generated by the TV and the computers... well they are good enough to keep the chil...

I was being serious! Isn't it more sensible to take the TV to the garage instead of take the gearbox into the lounge room on the carpet? To get the 'feel' you have to use the box. Pointless fitting it then trying to stuff around under the car a dozen times only to find out you set the two nuts at un...

Try doing a dummy setup. Take the TV out to the garage and sit it on a milk crate. About 2 metres in front of the TV, set up a gearbox so it's next to a nice comfy chair. Tune into the ABC F1 racing or a Winton Supercar broadcast, set the volume at about 92db and start driving. If it doesn't feel ri...

I'll add to elky's post.... The TX G161Z twin outlet cast headers had two different collector pipes offered. The earliest ones were a pair of pipes that went down under the car and then joined into a single pipe. These are NLA as an after market part and have to be custom fabricated by the exhaust s...

One of these days I'll get motivated and finish the Delco system off that I've been working slowly on. I don't know of anyone else who has bought the same programming setup I have. I still prefer to work with the delco over all other options because it's OEM and parts are cheap as well as common. I ...

So, just what 'wasn't quite right' about the Sigma section of pipe and of you have an invoice, does it list the part number for that section? If not, do you know EXACTLY what model and transmission option it was off? The part number for the gaskets would be good as well. Knowing exactly what Sigma p...

Well the changes are under way now. This is the basic scheme I'm going with and there is a reason why. The TwinCam forum is about to be merged into the HoldenGemini.net site. Everything will remain the same as it is now from a forum members poiint of view. The changes are in the background and will ...

Time to make some changes...

I'm toying with the idea of some changes to the forum. Plans are to do away with the current theme and banner logo. The theme I will be using is the same theme as used on the HoldenGemini.net forum. This is an example: http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/3996/forumug6.jpg I'd like to put an image of ...

A great write up on the finer points of the MSG boxes PeterA. I was thinking about setting up some graphs showing the different gear splits of Gemini five speed boxes. G200WE - 117 (PA96) - Engine Manual

I'm posting a copy of the workshop manual for the G200WE engine from the 1979-1981 PA96 model - Isuzu 117. The document is in Japanese so if anyone knows of a way to translate it by all means speak out! The file is here in Adobe Acrobat format. G200WE Manual (8.51mb) (link updated 26/01/2010)

Another method of sensing VIHICLE SPEED is to use an inline speedo cable adapter such as those used in aftermarket cruise control kits. Most off the shelf CC kits offer a basic magnetic sensor and a pair of magnets that you attach to the tailshaft (primative but it works) as well as an option to fit...

I have a bit of info regarding the G200W but it's all in Japanese. Parts, well, there is a fair bit of info on that through the forum. You can see by the drawing Denny provided, that an imaginary line down the centre of the two bottom gears that intersects the two timing marks is all you need to align the bottom gears. First step is to be sure they are aligned as you fit the lower chain. Now fit the top chain while you keep the bot...
