Re: Ant's g200w kalmaker
Does the timing etc explain the lack of power (dyno) above? I thought 75rwkw was a pretty reasonable figure. My mates got 80rwkw on his, so I think thats the ballpark for a standard efi setup on a standard g200w through a gemini 5 speed and drive train. How much do you expect? I wonder if the headg...

Re: Ant's g200w kalmaker
And it tensions the chain based on oil pressure. In order to set it, you need to push the shaft in until it locks and install it in the engine. When the engine turns it'll unlock and the shaft will extend and tension the chain, and lock at the point it needs to be at. Its shown here extended, and re...

The twin cam tensioner is a weird beast, its actually this thing here on the side of the front of the engine.

Re: Ant's g200w kalmaker
Thanks to the timing diagrams on the twin cam forums, we got it all aligned properly. Shiny links and pully marks right at the top and the bottom, but note the camera angle makes the bottom look a fraction out... its not... Interesting enough the shiny links seem to move across in relation to the pu...

Re: Ant's g200w kalmaker
So, we thought this wasnt too bad, and maybe the engine was good. We checked the head for damage, and found it to be fine. The rings and bores looked pretty good, and I decided that all was well enough that we could probably just clean it all up and use a VRS gasket set I had on hand, and put it bac...

Re: Ant's g200w kalmaker
Well, last week I had some trouble with the gem... I thought I had a bad tune on it as I had been experimenting, and it was running really poorly. After about the first 30 seconds of running it'd start running on 3 cylinders. I had It booked in with my mechanic to get a commodore alternator fitted a...

Re: W conversion fuel pumps?
im running a similar setup on mine - delco efi, with a generic bosh pump, and a barina fuel pressure regulator with JD camira MPI injectors (orange top, part number 0-280-150-205, 16.2lb/hr). The fuel is coming out the tank with the original carbie in tank low pressure pump, then running to a surge ...

Re: new free boosted and N/A delco software
4zd1 is good because its got the same guts, fits an isuzu engine, and has a shaft. I tried to get an RB dis on the weekend and didnt have any alan keys on me so failed, but after looking in the end of an RB engine which was missing the dis it looked more like it'd fit the camira dis. Do you have pic...

Re: new free boosted and N/A delco software
it uses MAP (manifold air pressure) to measure airflow. 1 bar is atmospheric pressure and that sensor is on the camira. in order to go in to post, you need a 2 bar (good for up to 14.5psi) or 3 bar (good for 29psi) sensor. These can be found on ebay. The gm or haltech ones are all the same thing. Th...

Re: new free boosted and N/A delco software
Well, Its fully tunable with good windows based software. It can support normally aspirated, or boosted configurations. It supports RPM up to 9600. It can drive 4 external outputs that can be configured however you like, mapping any engine variables against each other. For example some people have u...

new free boosted and N/A delco software
Just a heads up that the OSE12P delco software has been released. Its got many extra features over the standard '808 codes including boost, wideband o2 and much more. Its entirely free, windows based and more capable than other commercial solutions. Its running my G200W efi system built from junkyar...

Sounds like engine will be pretty nice. Certainly the power is possible. I understand these engines are good for 80kw standard, so thats almost 110hp with no mods. I think most of these engines getting around arnt setup properly and are under performers. There was a street legal one of these in Adel...

My car is almost back from the workshop in running and tuned condition. In the end the best fix for my distributor was for them to cut the bottom of the isuzu dissy and a camira distributor off then tig weld it together. Now ive got a distributor that looks camira from the module up and has an isuzu...

Is the $300 to have it burnt to a MemCal the cost of having it burnt, or the actual cost of the part needed? If it's the cost of having it burnt, I was thinking... Maybe we could find someone who already has a KalMaker, and rather than paying them lots to program it from scratch, just give them the...

Delco 4 cyl ignition circuit Hacked together from a couple of sources: http://www.symons.net.au/gemi/delco_ignition.jpg The ignition module converts the AC wave from the reluctor in to a DC square wave. This is fed back to the ecu, and below 400 RPM switches the coil giving 10 degrees constant advan...

One of these days I'll get motivated and finish the Delco system off that I've been working slowly on. I don't know of anyone else who has bought the same programming setup I have. I still prefer to work with the delco over all other options because it's OEM and parts are cheap as well as common. I...

I'll be able to help with this soon, my kalmaker/delco setup should be running on my g200w this week. Most the parts can be grabbed off a camira, whatever TPS is allready on there will probably be fine (just a variable resistor set up to read a 0-5v depending on position). Agreed that the O2 should ...

I'm going to experiment with different knock sensors and different knock filters from existing Delco memcals. Once again it's a challenge to find a suitable one. I'm hoping to pick up a few parts through a contact in the US who can ship them over to me. Quite a few four cylinder cars used the Delco...
