Clearance

Just wondering if someone could measure the distance between the rocker cover to bonnet, and side of head to shock tower for me as my engine isnt in the car. Im playing around with the idea of reverse-mounting the standard exhaust manifold and mounting a turbo on it.

Its been a while since ive done the indicators, to the point where i cant remember what they looked like. From what i can remember, the Gemini hole is too big and the lense and backing will need to be glued onto the quarter. As for the plug, all that was needed was abit of filing on the backing of t...

Yes they are/were AU indicators, reverse mounted so the pointy end aims towards the back of the car. All you need is some Stickaflek and they fit, i think even the plug clipped in with abit of fiddling. Tail lights were TD SL\E, I now have TX Coupe tail lights [not on the car] much like your mates. ...

May be time to formally introduce my car as im picking up my engine tommorow morning... Bought it off another forum member in a fairly sad state. Was originally a TD SL\E Coupe in a faded-and-cracked Atlantis blue duco. My initial thoughts were to respray it in the standard colour and get it on the ...

The valves are as big as you can fit. The ports have been modified. The lift is very high. You might spend a $1000 on a flow bench again for maybe a 10-15hp gain. A 16 valve head will flow so much more due to the valve area. One thing to remember just because it doesn't have as much power as a sr20...

They go for about 400-600 second hand, pretty common and easy to come by. Yella Terra sells the same charger brand new for about 1500 i think.

The supercharger off the 4AGZE is the SC12, while the one off the 1GGZE is the SC14. Both are positive displacement, the SC12 displacing 1.2L of air, the SC14 1.4L. Both are extreemly inefficient, crude, hot running and not worth the hassle. A turbo setup is a better option. BUT... If you MUST go fo...

Told you i was pretty sure the crank bolt pattern was the same  Never doubt me again fark ya. lol G161/180 clutch's are 200mm from memory, bolt pattern is the same as the G200 one so these should bolt on too. Go the G200, bigger flywheel = bigger clutch, bigger clutch =....well, you know. Nick-

As Denny said, the reason G series engines run on ULP without a drama [with the exception of ignition timing that is] is because they were built to run on it. We got the G161/180/200 as per Japan specs, and seeing as they had ULP for ages it means that Leaded didnt really affect the engine much othe...

Might be of some more assistance. From what ive seen, the airbox and filter is identical to that used in the Piazza and i *think* TF Rodeos. Not to worry though, you could use something like a VL Airbox which fits perfectly in the battery tray area, or perhaps on the firewall recess. As for the actu...

Simple enough answer to that question. The reason they cost so much to tune is because they cant be done in "real time". With an aftermarket ecu, the tuner makes adjustments on the lap top. With the Delco, you make the adjustment THEN burn it on the memcal, then it takes effect. The downsi...

I should point out that i dont actually OWN a DOHC as yet. I am looking at building a G200W with custom made forged pistons, balancing work, headwork, custom made EFI plenum [similar in design to the 117 item] and a GT28RS turbo, however its been put on the back burner until i can find a sollution f...

GeminiCoupe's twin cam

Post some pics of what its in etc  I came close to buyinga G200 DOHC for my Gemini a few months ago. Bloke wanted 200 for a mainly dissassembled and missing G200. Turns out it was originally out of a 117 [judging by the oil filter location]. Manifolds [both exhaust and inlet] were missing as w...

The first was found in the relatively rare hand made Isuzu 117 Coupe, while the later is from a JR130 Isuzu Piazza. Most major components are the same ho...
