Re: Twincam wiring

The TPS from the Commodore TB is the one to run, I think each TB has different locating notches to suit in the TPS. Same with the IAC valve, the Astra one is slightly different (the angle the wiring plug fits in). As far as I can figure, the components are the same electrically, just physical variat...

Re: Twincam wiring

I have most of an EFI setup from a G180W Gemini engine. I have the loom, the computer, the throttle body with the TPS and a few other sensors that were part of the original EFI system if you are keen. The AFM was stuffed and not repairable. Personally I'd do what IZU069 has suggested and convert to ...

New forum look... but it needs your help!

Hi people, I have updated to a new forum look, I think it's cleaner looking and suits a car forum. The original template has an image in the grey header bar but I've removed it pending a new image being developed. This is how it looked in default mode: forumheader.jpg and this is a full size of the ...

Re: G161W-G180W-G200W bearing sets (including cam bearings)

All the OHV cams were in block type resting on three full circle pressed in bearings weren't they Pete? One size fits all?? I have seen listings for OHC bearing shells, so is it that the G161S & G180S both had removable bearings for the cam? Have a look through this listing Pete http://www.taiho...

Re: How to strip a Delco setup out of a Pulsar/Astra.

I have explored all the different locally produced 4 cylinder EFI sub looms for their suitability as a conversion source for a G180W/G200W and have found the 1.8 litre MPI LD Astra/ N13 Pulsar to be the best option requiring least rerouting or modification of loom components and provides ample loom ...

Re: Injector specs

I have looked closer at my G180W injectors and after researching it seems quite a few JECS injectors have the number A46-000001 on the body opposite the 'Made in Japan' marking. I did note that these are both 'cast in' raised markings which often only describe the reference to a base part number and...

Re: G161W-G180W-G200W bearing sets (including cam bearings)

I have before me two boxes of bearing half shells which seem to be the ones we have been looking for. http://imageshack.us/a/img849/3983/20120802214803663.jpg They are Federal Mogul bearings and I'm yet to do a final check against the bearings in my engine. I'm assuming both the base and cap shells ...

Re: G180W injection / ECU issues

Keeping in mind mine is a blue top Gemini G180W, I found the engine wiring loom from the LD Astra/N13 Pulsar 1.8 litre MPI setups (they are the same setup rebadged) was more useful. The wiring in the engine bay is nearly identical to the 2.0 litre MPI JE Camira but the length of wiring from the bay ...

Re: G180W engine brackets

Ok, all chit chat aside, I really could use a pair of these engine mount brackets... Must be to suit the G180W Gemini engine.

I'll buy them if for sale, borrow them if need to copy and fabricate a new set.

Someone has to have a set sitting idle on a spare/parts engine???

We'll have to set the infamous IZU069 onto them then!!!

We need to keep a tab on what goes on in this small world of twincams. It's too easy to lose good connections then lose a supply link.

Re: G161W-G180W-G200W bearing sets (including cam bearings)

A little while ago two complete sets and a half set of actual twin cam bearings were located. We now have another part number to reference and we are trying to locate more sets of these bearings. They don't come as a set of 20 half shells, there are in sets of 10 so two sets are needed. Will keep ev...

Part number - oil seal

Does anyone have a part number for the oil seal behind the front crankshaft pulley? Doesn't have to be genuine Isuzu number... If someone has a full gasket kit laying around the seal would be in it, check for a brand and number on it (or the package it's in)

Re: G180W timeline

Emissions components are not really as simple as adding something off another similar engine. Just because a locally produced DIFFERENT engine has an EGR system doesn't mean the twincam has to have one as well. You could just as easily argue that modifying the Japanese system (Japanese had a stricte...

Don't be mistaken, advantages of using Delco are it's robust, cheap, able to do all you'll need. I use free software from TunerPro and low cost hardware from Moates APU1 AutoProm Package . antus can also show you a locally sourced method of reprogramming the Delco using similar means.
