I have a 2L DOHC which had (allegedly) $9,000 spent on it by some "expert" in Dandenong (Vic). I use it as a paper weight. Apart from replacing the DOHC cam-chain idle sprocket with a specially machined "cotton reel" (like the standard cog but with the teeth machined off - "...

Some more details might help you find what your after. Do you want a G180w or a G200w, do you want something needing a rebuild or something in running order? Gearbox? Loom? ECU?

Eitherway contact Bradlez, hes in perth and he has about 10 in assorted condtions.

With the Microtech [and most aftermarket ECU systems] you dont need an air flow meter, it relies on a Map sensor. Depending on what sort of aspiration the engine has [n/a or forced] will depend on the type of MAP you use [im assuming you already know this]. If you run it in N/A form i cant see why a...

G200w Distributor

Im not the most clued-up when it comes to distributors, havent really played with them before. What i have here is the dizzy off my G200w http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v403/isuzugemini/DSC03991.jpg According to Warren's [WFC] description posted on OzGem 1. Variable Reluctor - this is the standar...

Ok, the idle problem sounds like a TPS, idle screw not open enough, vac leak? Which should all disapear once you pull the throttle open by hand..

As for the "splutter", whats it like? Misfire style? If it is check your timing again and check the dizzy cap for any hairline cracks etc.

The C series bellhousing is an actual Rodeo Diesel C223 [i *think*] engine for example. Its not a 4ZC1 or E1, but you *might* as Poida said be able to mate this with the DOHC or C series bellhousing. I know for sure that a C series bellhousing mates with the SOHC box.

Im in the process of building the engine to suit forced induction so the exhaust manifold will be all custom, so thats no drama.

Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah its going in a Gemini, my Piazza has a 4ZC1T. I know the mounts were different on the 117coupe because of the oil filter location, wasnt aware of a difference b/w JR and PF. Have you fitted a G200w to a Gemini using SOHC mounts?

DOHC engine mounts

Im after a set of DOHC engine mounts as my block doesnt have them, im assuming they are different compared to the SOHC, and different again compared to the JR130 or 117. Anyone know a definitive answer, and anyone know where i can get a pair? My engine is ex-JR130, which means it should be the same ...

A mate was using standard Isuzu cast pistons in a 4ZC1 Turbo, if tuned properly they will be fine. It took detonation at 20psi, 5th gear full noise [6500rpm, dont ask what speed he was doing] for it to happen. Wastegate creep was the cause. Even though ACL dont recommend it, their Hypereutectic cast...

If you use sohc flat top pistons (these normally raise the comp on a sohc) the compression ratio will be lowered. If you have the cc volume of the head then you can work out the ratio. I have the cc numbers at home somewhere. If you are thinking of turboing the engine then this is not a bad idea. L...

SOHC Pistons

I forget who i was speaking to, or the exact details, but I remember being told using SOHC pistons in the DOHC block gives around a 7:1 or 7.5:1 compression ratio. Anyone know any more info about it?

Poida, you seem to have read my mind. Ive been thinking about this the last few days, i too am under the beleif that there is no reason why an aftermarket ECU could not control the injector/solenoids. Only limiting factor for me is the lack of current information, ill be leaving this sort of setup t...

Pretty sure he said they were modified and machined motorcycle rod bearings, seeing as bikes are subject to high rpm and the cams turning at half engine speed, it should be fine.

Brad brad brad, some nice finds there mate. The first engine is definately not out of a Piazza. The carbies and manifolds appear identical to those used on the 117 Coupe, however the real giveaway is the position of the oil filter. G200w's out of the JR130 have them up the front near the timing case...
